As of Fate War 6.5, masters are divided into three types:

Greater House

The greatest and most influential wizard lords
$40,000 in starting funds
Summons first
3 levels of magic (C Mana)
2 apprentice lackeys
Magically defended base granted by the church
Well known and respected by the Church
Has access to archived house lores
Identity and starting location broadcasted at beginning of game
Lesser Magi
(4 Teams)
Lesser known but still renowned magi
$10,000 in starting funds
Summons second
2 levels of magic (D Mana)
1 apprentice lackey
Regular AirBnB of your choice
Known and tolerated by the church
Cannot access archived lores
Identity researchable on sight or by your magical Lore
Wildcard
(2 Teams)
Unknown apprentices or self-taught hedge wizards
$2,500 in starting funds
Summons second
1 level of magic (E Mana)
No lackeys
Regular AirBnB of your choice
Unknown by the Church at beginning of game
Cannot access archived lores
Identity not recognizeable - no records of your existence exist
